Laura Sharkey joined the team in 2012, beginning her journey as a client of Alan’s before becoming an integral part of the firm. With a background in restaurant and healthcare management, Laura brings exceptional customer service skills and meticulous attention to detail to her role. As the first point of contact for client service requests—including account updates and redemption requests—Laura takes pride in fostering strong client relationships. She particularly enjoys connecting with clients face-to-face during events, putting names to faces, and building lasting rapport.
Born and raised in Downers Grove, Illinois, Laura has deep family roots that keep her grounded in the state. Her interests are as varied as they are unique; she has a passion for collecting elephant-themed items, from statues and jewelry to collector plates and paintings. Pieces with the trunk raised—symbolizing good luck—hold a special place in her heart. One of her dreams is to visit an Elephant Sanctuary and connect with rescued elephants in a meaningful way.
Outside of the office, Laura enjoys quality time with her husband and adult daughters, whether relaxing in their backyard and gardening, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, or indulging in a movie night, with a particular fondness for the works of Robin Williams.
A favorite movie line—"Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary" from Dead Poets Society—reflects her optimistic and adventurous spirit. Laura finds inspiration in its message to embrace life and remain open to new opportunities.
